Buyers
A buyer's agent who knows the neighborhoods you're eyeing, spots overpriced listings and fights for you in multiple-offer situations.
Find my agent →Allegan is the Allegan County seat, a small city built along a bend of the Kalamazoo River. The 1886 Second Street Bridge, a one-lane iron truss on the National Register, still carries traffic into a downtown of brick storefronts and older homes on the hills above the river. Allegan Township and the state game area to the west add rural land. A partner agent who works Allegan knows the city and the countryside around it.
Pick one to get started. It only takes a minute.

Local know-how
The Kalamazoo River loops through town. For homes near the water, check the FEMA flood map and get an insurance quote before your inspection period ends.
Many homes near downtown predate 1978, so expect a lead paint disclosure. Have the inspector look at foundations on hillside lots and at the age of the sewer line.
The city and the surrounding township have different taxes, zoning and utilities. Township homes often use wells and septic, so plan for those inspections.
