Buyers
A buyer's agent who knows the neighborhoods you're eyeing, spots overpriced listings and fights for you in multiple-offer situations.
Find my agent →Colonial Village is a south Lansing neighborhood of mostly single-family homes bounded by Mount Hope Avenue, Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Holmes Road and Pleasant Grove Road, with Elmhurst Park near its center. Land here joined the city in stages from 1917 through the late 1950s, so house ages and styles shift from block to block. A partner agent who works here knows which streets compare.
Pick one to get started. It only takes a minute.
Local know-how
Older sections near Mount Hope and newer postwar streets to the south can sell differently. Ask for recent sales of homes of similar age and size, close to the house.
Look at the roof, furnace, electrical panel, windows and sewer lateral, and ask about basement moisture. Homes built before 1978 come with a lead paint disclosure.
Most of the neighborhood is in the Lansing School District, but check the district for any specific address before you make an offer.
