A buyer's agent who knows the neighborhoods you're eyeing, spots overpriced listings and fights for you in multiple-offer situations.
Find my agent →Old Town is where Lansing began, on the Grand River north of downtown. Its brick commercial blocks along Turner Street and Grand River Avenue form a National Register historic district, now full of shops, galleries and festivals, with the Lansing River Trail along the water. A partner agent who knows the area can help you find older homes and lofts on nearby streets.

Local know-how
Old Town sits right on the Grand River. Look up the FEMA flood map for any home or building near the water and price flood insurance before you commit.
Many homes and mixed-use buildings here are well over a century old. Have the electrical system, foundation, roof and sewer line inspected, and expect a lead paint disclosure on pre-1978 homes.
Lansing requires most rentals to be registered and to hold a Certificate of Compliance. If you plan to rent all or part of a property, check its status in the city's housing portal.
